Ask Yourself These Questions to Discover Your Passion

crossroads, path, choice

Are you passionate about your work? It can be much easier to be successful financially and professionally if you can combine your passions and your work. Most of us play it safe and choose a career or create a business based largely on practicality. After all, it’s easier to find work as an accountant than as an artist.

But it’s possible to have both.

Your answers to these questions will help you discover your passions:

  • What do I like to do in my free time?
  • What part of my current job would I be willing to do for free?
  • When did I last have a hard time sleeping because I was so excited?
  • What would I do if I had unlimited time and resources?
  • As a child, what did I want to be when I grew up?
  • What issues in the world are most important to me?
  • What is my greatest talent?
  • What would I be if I could be anything?
  • What is exciting to me?
  • What do people thank me for?
  • What are my 3 most important core values?
  • Who do I look up to?
  • When do I consistently over-deliver?
  • On which topics am I willing to debate and argue?
  • What makes me come alive?
  • When I go to the bookstore, where do I spend most of my time?
  • What do I want to be remembered for?
  • Which worldwide challenge would I solve if I could?
  • What do my friends think would be the perfect job for me?

As you answer all these questions, you’ll likely recognize a recurring theme that holds the key to your passion. Applying yourself in an area you’re passionate about will do wonders for your business, career, and finances. You’ll find that the most successful people in the world love what they’re doing.

The two most important days in your life are the day you're born and the day you find out why.
